About

Join us at Pun Souk Farm for a unique and meaningful experience!

Our farm stay is located in Ban Phonsavath, a remote village in Vientiane Province, Laos, about 80 kilometers northwest of the capital.  We offer a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, with plenty of opportunities to participate in farm activities such as eco-building from nature and recycle materials, sustainable animal system, food forest production and sustainable garden. You can also enjoy fresh, locally grown food and learn about the farm-to-table process.

The farm is surrounded by rice fields and is home to elder grandparents and their grandchildren. Take a stroll through the village and witness grandmothers and grandfathers weaving bamboo mats, tables, and baskets for daily use. Some creations are sold, while others are used by the family.

Our passion lies in creating clean environment and connect meaningfully between nature and local people. We believe in the power of sustainability and the importance of supporting the local community, especially the older population who make up the majority of the village’s inhabitants. Our vision is to build a community center on our eco farm where elders can socialize, weave together, and host masterclasses for visitors to learn this traditional craft.

Additionally, our profits partly go towards community service programs specifically for the elders. We hope to see you soon at Pun Souk Eco Farm!

The Full Story

Mission

We want to advocate Lao culture, tradition, and belief through handicrafts, food, and real living experiences in our community.

We want to support community development focusing on older people in the villages by:

  • Improving the mental and emotional well-being of older people by engaging in activities so the elders will enjoy, expand their optimism, multiply moments of joy, and reduce stress.

  • Extending their lives and improving their physical vitality from creating plenty of fun moments.

  • Create space for elderly to showcase their handicraft, socialize with peers and visitors at the center, and at the same time come to share food.

Since we are not alone, we support local income generation by supporting local service and products (local transportation, local ingredients for cooking, and local handicraft souvenirs).

Additionally, raise awareness for local communities in terms of sustainable natural resource management is one of our activities e.g. bamboo and rattan restoration and how to sustainable use of them.
